Pastries are some kinds of baked products made of flour, butter, sugar, eggs, shortening, and baking powder. They are mostly sweet, but can also be savory based on the ingredients.
The word pastry comes from a French word pastisserie that refers to meat pie or anything made in the dough. The higher fat content of pastries gives them a crumby or flaky texture.
Although pastries are popular bakery products, you can also make them at home. They are quite easy to make and can be a great item in your breakfast or evening snacks.
In this article, we’ve covered some recipes for different types of pastries.
