Yummy Recipes of Various Pastries

Pastries are some kinds of baked products made of flour, butter, sugar, eggs, shortening, and baking powder. They are mostly sweet, but can also be savory based on the ingredients.

The word pastry comes from a French word pastisserie that refers to meat pie or anything made in the dough. The higher fat content of pastries gives them a crumby or flaky texture.

Although pastries are popular bakery products, you can also make them at home. They are quite easy to make and can be a great item in your breakfast or evening snacks.

In this article, we’ve covered some recipes for different types of pastries.

Recipes of Pastries

1. Cinnamon Fruit Biscuits

Ingredients

  • sugar – 1/2 cup
  • ground cinnamon – 1/2 teaspoon
  • refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (separated into ten biscuits) – 1 tube (12 ounces)
  • butter – 1/4 cup (melted)
  • strawberry preserves – 10 teaspoons

How to prepare:

  • Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Dip sides and top of biscuits in butter, then in cinnamon and sugar.
  • Place them on ungreased baking sheets. Make a deep indentation with the help of the end of a spoon’s handle in the center of each biscuit; fill each of them with one teaspoon preserves.
  • Bake at 375° for 15-18 minutes or until they become golden brown. Cool them for 15 minutes before serving (preserves will be hot).

2. Caramel Bubble Ring

Ingredients:

  • sugar – 3/4 cup
  • ground cinnamon – 4 teaspoons
  • caramel ice cream topping – 1/2 cup
  • maple syrup – 2 tablespoons
  • chopped pecans, divided – 1/3 cup
  • refrigerated breadsticks – 2 tubes (11 ounces each)
  • butter – 1/3 cup (melted)

How to Prepare:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Mix sugar and cinnamon; set them aside.
  • Mix caramel topping and syrup; set them aside.
  • Sprinkle half of the pecans into a greased, 10-in., fluted tube pan. Drizzle it with a third of the caramel mixture.
  • Open the tubes of breadstick dough (but don’t unroll). Cut each of them into six slices; dip in butter, then roll in cinnamon and sugar.
  • Place half of them in the pan; sprinkle with remaining pecans. Drizzle them with half of the caramel mixture. Top with remaining dough and then drizzle with remaining caramel.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until it turns into golden brown. Cool for 2 minutes before serving.

3. Banana Macadamia Muffins

Ingredients:

  • all-purpose flour – 3 cups
  • sugar – 2 cups
  • ground cinnamon – 2 teaspoons
  • baking soda – 1 teaspoon
  • salt – 1 teaspoon
  • eggs – 3 (large)
  • canola oil – 1 cup
  • vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
  • bananas – 3 (medium, ripe, mashed)
  • sweetened shredded coconut – 1 cup
  • crushed pineapple – 1 can (8 ounces)  (drained)
  • macadamia nuts – 1 cup (coarsely chopped)

How to prepare:

  • Mix the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  • Take another bowl and mix the eggs, vanilla, and oil. Stir into dry ingredients until moistened. Fold in the coconut, bananas, and pineapple.
  • Fill greased the muffin cups two-thirds full. Sprinkle with nuts.
  • Bake at 375° for 18-20 minutes. Cool them for 5 minutes and then remove from pans to wire racks.
  • You can serve them hot or store them in a refrigerator. Just microwave them for 20-30 seconds before serving.
