If you’re tired of your regular food, try this recipe for the classic hamburger. It’s easy to make, incredibly delicious, and healthier than the one you get in the restaurant.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • One medium onion, chopped
  • One tablespoon canola oil
  • Two tablespoons ketchup, divided
  • Two teaspoons dill pickle relish
  • Two tablespoons low-fat mayonnaise
  • One teaspoon distilled white vinegar
  • Two tablespoons Worcestershire sauce or steak sauce
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • Four slices tomato
  • Four sesame-seed or other hamburger buns, toasted
  • Four leaves green-leaf lettuce

How to Prepare Hamburgers — Try This Homemade Recipe

How to Prepare:

  • Take a grill and preheat it medium to high.
  • Take a medium saucepan and mix onion, oil, and one tablespoon ketchup. 
  • Cover the saucepan and cook over medium-high heat for  5 to 7 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low, uncover, and cook. Stir occasionally for 5 to 8 minutes more. 
  • Transfer the onions to a medium bowl.
  • Mix beef, Worcestershire, and pepper with the onion. Make four patties, about 3 to 4 inches thick.
  • Add oil on the grill rack. Grill the burger in 165ºF temperature for 4 to 5 minutes each side.
  • While grilling, combine one tablespoon ketchup, relish, mayonnaise, and vinegar in a small bowl.
  • Put the burger patty on the toasted buns, add the mayonnaise mix, lettuce, and tomato slices.
  • Serve hot.
