Homemade Hamburger Recipe
If you’re tired of your regular food, try this recipe for the classic hamburger. It’s easy to make, incredibly delicious, and healthier than the one you get in the restaurant.
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- One medium onion, chopped
- One tablespoon canola oil
- Two tablespoons ketchup, divided
- Two teaspoons dill pickle relish
- Two tablespoons low-fat mayonnaise
- One teaspoon distilled white vinegar
- Two tablespoons Worcestershire sauce or steak sauce
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- Four slices tomato
- Four sesame-seed or other hamburger buns, toasted
- Four leaves green-leaf lettuce
How to Prepare:
- Take a grill and preheat it medium to high.
- Take a medium saucepan and mix onion, oil, and one tablespoon ketchup.
- Cover the saucepan and cook over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Reduce heat to medium-low, uncover, and cook. Stir occasionally for 5 to 8 minutes more.
- Transfer the onions to a medium bowl.
- Mix beef, Worcestershire, and pepper with the onion. Make four patties, about 3 to 4 inches thick.
- Add oil on the grill rack. Grill the burger in 165ºF temperature for 4 to 5 minutes each side.
- While grilling, combine one tablespoon ketchup, relish, mayonnaise, and vinegar in a small bowl.
- Put the burger patty on the toasted buns, add the mayonnaise mix, lettuce, and tomato slices.
- Serve hot.
